Synopsis
Disasters often cause great distress and leave a deep, prolonged sadness to the victims, but not to Baba Akong and wife. The tsunami, which struck Flores, NTT in 1992, was a starting point for their environmental movement: planting mangroves along the coast of Ndete beach. They have been doing it for 16 years, covering an area 23 hectares wide. Today, the movement includes 41 environmental groups which total 2000 members.
