Synopsis :
Borderless Culture | Kampung Halaman and IPMKR-Y | 31 minutes
It is important for a country to have an identity. However, with the establishment of two countries which are contiguous and share the same culture: Malay, identity can engender controversy, fight, or dispute because the both countries have the sense of belonging of the same thing.
Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, the countries that we know now, are figuration results of new geopolitics as consequences of London Tractate at 1824. Before the time, traffic of human, goods, and culture was so smooth in Malay Kingdom's record, Johor-Riau-Lingga-Pahang. After England conquered Malaysia and Singapore, and Netherland defeated Indonesia, borderlines delivered stories of new countries.
Culture in the modern context has mixed with politic and economic policies of countries. These regulations sometime forget the history and meaning of the culture: that we are from one root in the context of Malay culture which is one of the highest cultures in the world.
